* Deed Book F, May 16th, 1845

      This Indenture made this 98h day of March A.D. 1840 between Joseph Griffy and Ann his wife and Madison M. Mullins and Ann his wife Matilda Searcy of the County of Anderson of the State of Kentucky of the one part and A.C.P. Whitenackof the County of Mercer and State of Kentucky of the other part. Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have bargained and sold and by these presents doth convey unto the said party of the second part, all the right, title, interest and claim that they now have or may hereafter have in and to a certain tract of land supposed to be about Two hundred and Twenty seven acres bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at a white oak and Dogwood thence North 149 poles to an ash tree, thence West 26 poles to an ash and maple, thence South 90 poles to a Black Oak and two Dogwoods, thence South 65° East 116 poles to an ash and two White Oak trees, thence East 116 poles to the Beginning, The said land descended to the said Joseph Griffy, Matilda Searcy and Ann Mullins as children and Heirs at law of Joseph Griffy Deceased. To have and to hold their interests in said land Together with all and singular appurtenances there unto belonging, or in any wise appertaining to the only proper uses and behoof of him the said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever and the parties of the first part for themselves their heirs and doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part that they will forever warrant and defend their said interest aforesaid against the claim and [ ] of themselves their heirs [ ] and against the claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever. In Testimony, Whereof the parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals this day and date first written.

I Jordan H. Walker Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do certify that this deed from Joseph Griffy and Ann Griffy his wife and Monroe M. Mullins and Ann Mullins his wife and Matilda Searcy to A.C.P. Whitenack was on the 8th day of March 1845 produced to me in my office by the grantors and acknowledged by the said Joseph Griffy, Monroe M. Mullins and Matilda Searcy to be their act and deed. And the said Ann Griffy and Ann Mullins being examined by me privily and apart from their husbands declared that they did freely and willingly sign seal and deliver the said writing and wishes not to retract it and acknowledged them again shown………
